Now in its fourth year, the Palestine Marathon (which also includes shorter distances) takes place during spring time. It is organised by a group, Right to Movement, founded by an international community of runners intent on running for the basic human right to freedom of movement.
The route takes runners through 'everyday palestinian life': it starts at the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, passes through two refugee camps, and along the Wall that the International Court of Justice deemed illegal, which denies Palestinians the basic human right to freedom of movement.
